The first deposit for the Spring trip to “Festival Disney” in Orlando was due this Wednesday September 28, 2011.  To date we’ve collected over 160 deposits, so we’ve extended the deadline to Wednesday October 5.  Unfortunately after that we’ll have to stop taking deposits.

The payment schedule along with important details including trip permission form was handed out to each student several weeks ago.   PAYMENT # 2 will be due Friday October 21st. Please make checks payable to AHS Band.  You can also pay your deposit by completing a credit card order, or by using your ISA (individual student account).  You can check your child’s ISA balance on this website. If you need a copy of anything or have questions please email Mr. Walsh asap.   Deposits are due this Wednesday September 28, 2011.

MORE REHEARSAL UPDATES

Written by Michael Walsh on September 19th, 2011

Please be sure to check the schedule regularly.  We have added a Marching Band rehearsal on Saturday morning October 15 from 9am-1pm, in the stadium. This rehearsal is intended to get us fine-tuned for the FL competition.  We intend to do well in FL - so we’ll need to put in the effort.

TEACHER PLANNING DAY:  Battery and Front Ensemble rehearsal added on Monday October 17th from 9am-1pm, on the field; it replaces the afternoon rehearsal that day.  COLORGUARD, THIS IS A GOOD DAY TO GET SOME FIELD TIME WITHOUT DISTRACTION!

NO conflicts with SAT or ACT testing, and both UGA and GT football are out-of-town away games.

DATE CHANGES

Written by Michael Walsh on August 9th, 2011

Parents / Students: Please pay attention to the schedule on a regular basis for changes and additions to our rehearsal / performance schedule.

Saturday September 10, 2011 is the scheduled FCS Marching Band Exhibition - it has been CANCELLED on our schedule due to the conflict with our AHS Homecoming. Rather than create a difficult choice for our band members, we’ve elected to NOT go to the Exhibition and free our students to attend the homecoming dance.

Should you decide not to go to the dance you can certainly still attend the FC Marching Exhibition at Creekside High School on the evening of September 10.

Again, pay attention to the website calendar regularly for updates, changes, and additions.   Let’s have a great year!
