Leadership Follow Up

Written by Michael Walsh on June 1st, 2010

Leaders, remember that to lead you must live it.  Be sure you are thinking about the future over the course of the next few weeks.  And, don’t forget to take care of leadership projects.  We’d like those completed before we come back in August.  Finally, you can contact Scott Lang through his website at www.scottlang.net

Looking forward to a GREAT season in 2010!

As announced at out awards banquet, the Fulton County High School Band Directors are creating a scholarship fund in his memory or Westlake High School Band Students.  Please consider making a donation.  Checks can be make payable to “Alpharetta HS Bands” - our boosters will write one check to the scholarship fund.

R U a “planner?”

Written by Michael Walsh on December 14th, 2009

The 2010 Football schedule is on our website calendar NOW.  If your child will be marching with the Raider Band, please block out these dates. The competition schedule will be posted as we confirm dates and competitions.

What’s Next?

Written by Michael Walsh on December 11th, 2009

Parents and Students, PLEASE look at the schedule / calendar regularly (DAILY) - be informed. We have several activities and at least one performance every month from now until school is out in May, including a performance on the day of graduation.  In the classroom we strive to teach responsibility and commitment; missing events due to lack of planning is counter-productive to our goals.

From performances to clinics to hosting events to 2010 marching band camp, you name it and we have it scheduled.  We schedule events as they become known to us; your responsibility is to view the calendar regularly and stay informed.

Scheduled after-school rehearsals are MANDATORY, not optional.  We publish all known rehearsals and performances well in advance for one reason - so you can plan ahead.  We count on each and every band member in performance.  And we cannot perform with students who did not rehearse.  Likewise, it is counter-productive to rehearse with students who are not performing.

SPECIAL NOTE IF YOU ARE TRAVELING TO NYC:  Please look over the March schedule carefully; everyone has after-school rehearsals this month.

Bottom Line:  WATCH THE SCHEDULE - BE INFORMED!

ISAs updated!

Written by Michael Walsh on November 17th, 2009

We have FINALLY updated ISAs for October / November.  We’ve been waiting on Verizon to be added in; it is now there!  Please contact our ISA chairperson (Dave Pratt) if you find any mistakes or have questions. He has worked hard to make this sheet as clear as possible.  If you need the password to open, contact Mr. Walsh via email and be sure your name and child’s name are in the body of the email.

Remember, the procedure to withdraw funds is to download the ISA withdraw form from this website, complete it, and submit it to Mr. Walsh.  Please be sure you have $$ in your account before making payments with ISA funds.
