Wednesday will begin at 8am and conclude at 12 noon.  Be sure you invite your section and your band friends; its only $35 per person for non leadership and will make our band that much better!!  Remember - Scott Lang never starts late and is always excited - - so be on time!

Parents and Students: Want the AHS Band calendar to sync with your cool new iPhone / iPad calendar?  It can be easily done.  This is an EASY way to stay informed and up to date on band events.  It does not override anything you personally add.  It simply adds Band events from our website calendar to your personal calendar.

Open your computer: go to iCalendar app, clinck on the Calendar button at top, and click on the first item in the dropdown menu (subscribe).  This is under settings, “add account,” “other,” “add subscribed calendar” on our iPhone and iPad.  You will get an open window asking for a URL to subscribe to.  Copy this link and past into that window:  https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/walshmi1%40comcast.net/public/basic.ics

All Band events will now be added to your iPhone or iPad!  Of course you can manage events as you’d like, but you will stay up to date as events are added and modified.

DROID USER (like me)?  You have google calendars on your phone already.  simply go to your settings menu on your DROID, accounts and sync, then at the bottom “Add account”, sign in, then add raiderbandman@gmail.com  This will get you the Band website calendar events to your google calendar!

Click the “Music” page button at the top of this website.  Once you are on music page, scroll to the bottom and download the appropriate etude.  The window for auditions will be the week of April 9-13, 2012 (4-weeks from now, the week after spring break). Cameras will be set up the entire week.  If you are currently in middle school, a camera set up along with recording instructions will be made available to you for audition.

ALL 12 major scales will be required to be played prior to the etude. Credit always give for successful extra octaves.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL: You should prepare all scales for this audition.  Keep in mind that redit is given for extra octaves. The purpose of this audition is so that we can get an idea about your current music skills on your instrument.  While the audition is NOT required to get into our program, it will determine which ensemble you are placed in.  ALL 3 concert ensembles combine to form the marching band - everyone can be in marching band, even without audition!  Ability is what separates our 3 concert ensembles.  The etude is optional for placement into Symphonic Band II, required if you are auditioning for either Symphonic Band I or Wind Ensemble.
