WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE
ALPHARETTA HIGH SCHOOL RAIDER BANDS!
Alpharetta High School, located in Alpharetta, GA opened its doors in the fall of 2004, and the Alpharetta High School Band was born. With 39 original band members (including 2 guard members), the program has flourished to over 210 members. In addition to offering a daily Band curriculum that includes three large concert ensembles and two percussion classes, we offer Jazz Band weekly during zero period. The award-winning Marching Raider Band has open membership; no audition required and open to all band members with the desire to participate. Included with the Marching Raiders is our Raider Color Guard, which is open to band and non-band members (tryouts each spring).
Our ensembles are consistently rated superior at festivals and competitions. Highlight performances include annual appearances at the Georgia Music Educators Large Group Performance Evaluation; local marching band exhibitions and competitions including the White Columns Invitational, and regular trips to the Florida gulf coast with our Marching Raiders, performing at the West Florida Invitational and the Emerald Coast Invitational. Our Wind Ensemble was invited to and performed at the 2006 National Concert Band Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City and the 2008 Heritage Band Festival in San Francisco, CA. In January 2010 The Wind Ensemble was a featured ensemble at the Georgia Music Educators Association state convention in Savannah, GA. In addition, the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band were both invited to and performed at the 2010 National Concert Band Festival at Carnegie Hall in NYC. It is great to be in Band at Alpharetta High School!!
